Wallace and Gromit

Kicked start my new year movie journey with TK and watched Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Probably because I went in with a high expectation (my wife said because we went in with an empty stomach), the show was good but not as good as I thought. The artwork is beautiful. However, the storyline is a bit simplistic and most of the time you are listening to Wallace talking to his dog Gromit that communicates only by facial expression. Also, a number of key incidents of the show is a bit illogical.

Another main reason is that I kept on comparing this movie with Corpse Bride.

Some scenes I liked – SPOILERS AHEAD!

It was definitely a challenge watching a movie with an empty stomach (mind you, we didn’t have lunch – we only had brunch and no dinner). I even felt hungry when they showed carrots, tomatos, and other veggies. I could relate to the were-rabbit. But there are some really funny scenes, mostly done by the dog (Gromit, right?). He is a very intelligent dog and apparently was a graduate from some university. My favourite scene is the fighting scene in an “aeroplane”. The coin purse was so darn hillarious. Another scene I liked was when the Lady Don-t-Know-What’s bandaged her hair after a fight with Victor. I would recommend people to watch this show, but perhaps dinner beforehand is in order.

Not too good even I have my stomach full … To me, the movie also turned out not as good as expected… Not sure whether you have the short firm played before the Wallace and Gromit. But in HK, there is a 20-min long short firm on Madagascar Penguins! I laughed from the start till the end and nearly got fallen from the seat! hahaha… So cute and funny! Then I found the price of my ticket paid even when the Wallace and Gromit did not turn out good! hahaha…
