For the past few years, National Day has often involved music of some forms with my band. This year, the Movie Review Squad met up and watched a comedy instead. “Hangover” is quite possibly one of the more bizarre comedies I have watched. Good news is, the strange plot does make sense as this ‘detective’ story unfolds.
“Hangover” begins with one of the groomsmen calling the bride on his cell phone and tells her that they have screwed up, as the groom is missing. The story then rewinds to the beginning of the bachelor party at Las Vegas. Something happens to the group and the groomsmen wake up to a badly damaged hotel suite, a tiger in the bathroom, a baby in the wardrobe, and a missing groom. No one seems to remember what has happened the night before and they attempt to put together the missing puzzles by following clues that uncover more bizarre stories.
I remember all three of us laughed non-stop from beginning to the end of the show. Crude jokes, no doubt, but they did it with class. There is a plan for the sequel and I can almost imagine whose wedding will be next. Maybe once again, the same gang will wake up from a party without any recollection of the previous evening. We shall see.
On a side note, how Heather Graham has aged! Nevertheless, I still think she is really charming. She seems to be having roles like stripper, prostitutes, porn star, and etc. I wonder why.

Sounds like a good one to check out!
Heyzanie – Ya, very funny … lol. Some of the jokes we still laugh at today.
hmmm….you are making me very curious!!
Heyzanie – Check out the trailer first to see if it’s your cup of tea 🙂 This show has received good ratings across the board, that is if you enjoy watching comedies.
Ok, I will! I should like it, I have very high tolerance for comedies 😉
Heather Graham is forever etched in my mind as Roller Girl. And I suppose that happens with many directors and audiences too.
Darkspore – Ah, I haven’t watched Roller Girl yet, I think. Maybe I should!
You’ve never watched Boogie Nights?! I love the movie!
Darkspore – Hmmm … let me keep a look out of that movie on the cable.
I watched this 2 weeks ago…first movie with my boyfriend is not a romantic lovey dovey movie but The Hangover ! LOL yeah I think i enjoyed it as much as him but the ending was pretty much predictable. But lots of laughs! *cant wait to go to Las Vegas and see if its realli like that XP
Luisa – Ah, that is sweet. A comedy for a first movie date 🙂 It’s a good choice cuz it is a great comedy.
Yes, the ending is pretty much predictable as the pieces fall into places. Still, it is fun to see the whole story told in reverse.
Oh, you haven’t been to Las Vegas? I have. It is like a miracle city. In the middle of the desert, there is light and water. All the casinos are huge, with an unique theme. Some has a roof top amusement park. The food, I remember, was really cheap and good. I had so many lobsters inside the casino’s restaurants. It is certainly a very unique city. And while you are at LV, why not drop by LA too 🙂
Hey Yeah L.V sounds like heaps of fun! but i heard staying there 2 -3 days is realli enough! Is that true? And I’ve cousins in L.A. would like to go there one day! Though, i’m off to Europe in September – touring London, France, Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Switzerland 🙂 It will be my first time in Europe!
I see u been in UK, whats the weather like in Sept?
Luisa – Yes, you don’t need that many days in LV. 2 or 3 days should suffice. Wow, heading to Europe eh? Europe is beautiful! Spend more time in France, Italy, and Switzerland.
Weather in UK is often gloomy, unless it is summer time in July, August. Rains quite a bit. It does have a different kind of charm. Which part of UK you plan to visit?

Luisa – I see. There is much to see in London. And concerts too! Oxford Street is famous for shopping. Then, there are museums and etc.
You know how to speak French?! Then you shall stay in Paris for as long as you can! I have stayed there during my school holiday and have worked there for half a year too. I love Paris. I have walked so much in Paris. Just wonderful.
